Tragedy again hit the family of former Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, as his eldest son, died Sunday morning from an undisclosed ailment.
Adamu Abubakar Rimi was said to have been rushed to Classic Hospital in the ancient city, following an illness he developed Saturday night. He died as efforts to revive him failed.
The death which came as another blow to the family barely one week after the gruesome murder of his stepmother, Hajiya Sa'adatu Abubakar Rimi, has thrown the family members and sympathisers into another round of mourning, as the late Adamu was said to be hearty and was even receiving visitors hours before his death.
He has been buried according to Islamic burial rites after funeral prayer was said inside his father's Durbin Kastina residence in Bompai quarter by the chief Imam of Tarauni Mosque, Malam Yakubu Yahaya Liman .
The late first son of Alhaji Rimi, popularly known by his friends and admirer as JAZZY was born by Rimi's first wife Hajiya Amina who is no longer in the house.
According to a source who pleaded not to be mentioned, the late Adamu showed no sign of illness.
Said he: "Alhaji Adamu was very lively yesterday, there was no sign of any sickness in him. I was surprised when I got the news about his death early this morning. Death is so cruel. May his soul rest in peace"
When asked to comment on the death of his elder brother, Abubakar who is popularly called Alhaji Karami said: "It came as a surprise to us, two deaths in a row is too much."
