Super Eagles' Captain, Austin Okocha, may not be included in the team's opening match against the Black Stars of Ghana on Monday.
Okocha was not in the team's training session on Friday evening because of a groin injury.
On Saturday morning, the Eagles and their handlers only had a walk on the long beach of Port Said behind their Helnan Hotel abode. The team had real training on Saturday evening.
But Coach Austin Eguavoen said his team list for Monday's game is only expected after their last training session on Sunday (today).
Asked what his condition was like, Okocha, told our correspondent that he was still watching the injury, which he cupped on their last day of practice in Faro, Portugal.
However, the Eagles' team doctor, Dr. Abdullahi Muazu, said that the medical crew was intensifying efforts to see that Okocha was fit for the opening match. Muazu said that there was no other injury problem in the camp.
Eguavoen said that he was told of Okocha's condition on Friday and he, therefore decided to rest him from training in order not to aggravate his condition.
Meanwhile, Nwankwo Kanu, said that although he had not fully recovered fully from the jaw injury he sustained recently in a match in England, he was ready for action in the ongoing Nations Cup beginning with the Black Stars.
