The concept of Runway Dreams is focused on exporting talents into the international market
It is competition open to Nigerian male and female models and artistes between the ages of 16 to 27, whose dream is reaching the peak of their career. It promises to lend a helping hand to the hidden talents in the modelling as well as entertainment industry.
Debbie Hornecker, chief executive officer, Elysee Agencee, Modelling in Nigeria will indeed take a new turn with the maiden event of Runway Dreams. Selected 36 male and female contestants will converge and compete for the prestigious Male & Female International Model Awards For Runway Dreams Nigeria 2006. The competition will have six judges (three international and three local). All contestants will be wearing apparel by leading Nigerian designers.
In the last few years, Elysee Agence has produced models for major advertising agencies in Nigeria. Elysee Agence models faces have been a regular face for the industry. "Nigeria with over a population of 120 Million people has many more hidden talents waiting to be discovered and Runway Dreams 2006 makes such dreams come true", Hornecker said.
She believes that an efficient quality service is the key to establishing mutually beneficial client-agency relations. "Our ultimate and only goal is placing the right models to complete clients' projects in the national and international market best possible manner". We at Runway Dreams are searching for the new stars female and male between the ages of 16 - 27 years. These women and men will compete for the wonderful opportunity of being seen and recognized both locally and internationally.
An annual event, Runway Dreams 2006 is affiliated to the very successful Shine Group in South Africa. The affiliated agency, Shine Models will obtain work permits respectively for the male and female winner in South Africa with the potential of earning up to $50,000 each year. The runner up winners will receive various consolation prizes.
Shine Group, a South African based agency which represents Models, Photographers, Hair Stylists, Make Up Artists and Characters is managed by seasoned industry professionals, Megan Kruger and Paul Diamond. Both of them are expected in Nigeria in April for the final selection of the winners of the maiden edition.
The nationwide model search will begin with a registration network that will enable prospective applicants all over Nigeria to obtain, complete and submit application forms that will qualify them for the zonal screenings.
