Would someone please tell me where we are going in Nigeria?
Would someone please tell me where we are going in Nigeria?
Sometime last year, the nation was inundated with the news of the allegedly thieving Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, and until the man was impeached, no one had a moment's rest.
Now it is the turn of the Governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, who is also being accused of stealing public funds.
Beyond the politicking that regularly attends such accusations and counter-accusations, it is the responsibility of the Federal Government and its relevant agencies to let Nigerians know the truth about the allegations leading to the impeachment of duly elected public officials.
It is not enough to accuse someone, remove him from office and then go silent on the accusations that led to his removal.
Now, the Bayelsa governor's case is gradually fading away from the public memory, and so would Ladoja's case be with time.
Those who have foisted themselves on us should stop insulting our collective intelligence.
By the way, how many governors have been penciled down for removal?
