Dariye: Plateau House invites Ribadu


Special Committee set up by the Plateaau StateHouse of Assembly to investigate allegation of gross financial misconduct against Governor Joshua Dariye has summoned the chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) ,Malam Nuhu Ribadu to appear berfore it next Wednesday.

A statement signed by the secretary of the committee. Mr. Cornelius Shiobial said the chairman will be expected on Wednesday 18th of January to throw more light into the allegations brought against the governor as reflected in the letter sent to the House.

This will be the second time the House will be calling on the chairman for explanation. Shortly after the receipt of his letter directing the House to begin investigation on the Governor, the House had written to the EFCC boss asking him to explain why some pages of the letter sent to it were missing anddemanding an explanation on why the seal on the letter was removed before it got to the House.

Upon the receipt of the missing pages, the House of Assembly constituted a committee to study the letter and explain the detail to the House. on the completion of its assignment, Speaker Simon Lalong constituted another committee to begin the investigation of the allegations brought against the governor.
The committee which began sitting on Thursday 12th of January assured the people of the state that it will conduct the assignment with all seriousness it deserves; pointing out that it would makedue proccess its watchword.

The special Committee in its statement issued on Friday also reminded all the nine persons indicted by the EFCC in the letter sent to the House to appear before it on thursday, the 19th of January.

They include the former Accountant General, Mr.Shem Damisa; Chief of Staff Government House, Nde Alexander Molwus; The Accontant General Silas Bonbut;General Manager, Jos Metropolitan Development Board, S. D Bakfur; Former Accountant of the state Water Board, Rose Wannang.
Others are the General Manager of the Plateau Inwestment and Property Development Company,M. D Dalghut; The state commissioner for Finance,Emmanuel Agati,and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Joseph Magaji Azi.
