Everton dare NFA over Yobo

Everton are foot dragging in fixing a date for the release of Joseph Yobo for Super Eagles' Nations Cup camping in Faro, Portugal, despite the Riot Act read to player by the Nigeria Football Association to report latest on Monday or forget the event.

Everton are foot dragging in fixing a date for the release of Joseph Yobo for Super Eagles' Nations Cup camping in Faro, Portugal, despite the Riot Act read to player by the Nigeria Football Association to report latest on Monday or forget the event.

The defence ace was cleared last week, alongside other Premiership club players comprising West Brom's Nwankwo Kanu, Middlesbrough striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, and former Bolton captain, Austin Okocha, by coach Austin Eguavoen to report to camp on Friday.

But liverpool network.com revealed on Thursday that the NFA was not happy with the player.

Report on Thursday indicated that Everton Manager, David Moyes, was not in a haste to let-go of his prized defender.

According to the club official website on Thursday," No date has yet been set for Yobo's departure to join up with his international team-mates ahead of the tournament and he will definitely be available for this weekend's FA Cup third round tie at Millwall."

Moyes was quoted as saying the 25-year-old Nigerian would be sorely missed by the team who are enmeshed in relegation war.

He said, 'We don't want to lose Joe as he has been a real plus.

'To be fair to him - and to Nuno Valente - sometimes they have been playing with little injuries and could have quite easily dropped out. But they didn't. It's the type of attitude that we are looking for from the players. Joe has made one or two mistakes recently, which he has to eradicate from his game, but we know we are going to lose him for the African Nations Cup."

Only on Thursday, Yobo was voted the best player of the Everton for the month of December.
