Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Emmanuel Adebayo has warned policemen on road to stop checking vehicle particulars.

He also warned illegal collection of N20 notes from drivers and conductors should stop warning that it was the paramount duty of every Divisional Police Officer to supervise their subordinates or face the full wrath of the law.

In a press statement made available to Daily Sun, the CP has also directed that all constables who have not spent three years should be withdrawn from crime, investigation and other related duties and be deployed to traffic duties.

He said that the directive became imperative to facilitate easy flow of traffic in the metropolis.
He warned that any violation of all his directives would amount to disloyalty and gross disobedience of lawful orders.

He ordered that the deployment of traffic personnels 'commences from 6 am to 10 pm" adding that 'It is expected that all Divisions and Area Commanders should cover all bottlenecks and high traffic density areas day and night."

In what he tagged 'Operation Keep Moving" he directed 'DPO and their officers to supervise men so posted out. They are not to stagnate or impede traffic by collecting money or making unnecessary demands from motorists."

He warned that whenever such was noticed, the DPO or the senior police officer in the vicinity will be vicariously liable.
