Vice President Atiku Abu-bakar, has after doing without an Aide de Camp (ADC) for about three weeks, gotten a new one.

He is Superintendent of Police (SP), Mohammed Dankwara, and is from Adamawa, the Vice President's home State.

The new ADC, whose last posting was the Force Headquarters, was brought to Atiku by the Inspector-General of Police, Sunday Ehindero.

His former ADC, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Abdul Yari, from Nasarawa State, was arrested and detained by the Police over what the police described as "security breach."

The new ADC was seen yesterday performing his duties, as he accompanied the Vice President to the Council Chambers of the State House, for the weekly meeting of the Economic Team and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting shortly after.

Yari, who has been ADC to Atiku Abubakar since 1999, has however, challenged his continued detention by the police.

Immediately after his arrest, Ehindero had asked Atiku to choose another ADC from a list of six names or any other of his choice.
It is not clear however, how the selection of the new ADC was finally decided.
