...Pastor Bimbo's death, great loss to me -Husband

PASTOR Taiwo Odukoya, husband of the late Pastor (Mrs) Bimbo Odukoya who died in Sosoliso plane crash last Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has described his wife's death as a great loss to him.

PASTOR Taiwo Odukoya, husband of the late Pastor (Mrs) Bimbo Odukoya who died in Sosoliso plane crash last Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has described his wife's death as a great loss to him.

Pastor Odukoya stated this yesterday just as the Fountain of Life Church of which the late Pastor was a Co-Pastor, formally announced the demise of the 45 year-old mother of three.

In an interview with Daily Champion at the family's GRA, Ikeja Lagos residence, Pastor Odukoya who spoke through a Senior Pastor of the church, Pastor Alfred Ohiani, described the late Pastor Bimbo as his friend, wife, mother of his children and as well as a part and parcel of him.

He, however, said he had taken it in good faith and has given all glory to God.

He said further that the church would miss her as her life had been a source of support with her smile, encouragement and charisma.

Pastor Ohiani who related how he personally feels about Pastor Bimbo's eternal departure, said he had known her since 1980 when he was in the university (as he was a classmate with Pastor Taiwo at the University of Ibadan.

"She played a very vital role in my life in every ramification. I'll definitely miss her," he lamented.

On her last moments, he said she was in Abuja for a programme by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) where she was invited to talk to the youths (singles and married) and the programme was successful.

"She was going for the Port Harcourt session of the programme when the unexpected happened," he explained, disregarding the rumour that the husband tried to stop her from embarking on the journey. "Her hushands still spoke to her at the airport," Pastor Ohiani further said.

When asked about the state of the church in her absence, he said "the church belongs to Jesus and He alone can make the church the way it was."

"We will miss her greatly but God is never static and we know He will be able to handle the situation," he added.

When Daily Champion visited her house yesterday, people were wearing mournful looks as a woman broke down in tears and was being consoled by her friends.

Visitors present there as at press time included the founding pastors of Living Spring Chapel International Pastor Femi Emmanuel who said she affected generations as it relates to family issues, couples, raising children and home management.

"She lived a fulfilled life. She came, she saw and she conquered," he said, adding that those whose lives she touched will continue to remember her.

"Life is not in its duration but in its donation. She donated her life, she lived for a purpose and she lived well," he further stated.

Also present was the senior Pastor of the Daystar Christian Centre, Oregun, Lagos, Pastor Sam Adeyemi and his wife, Nike; Bishop Ojo of the Church of God Mission, Lagos, Pastor J. T. Kalejaye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

"The condolence register was filled with various heart touching messages describing the late icon.
