Meanwhile, the Senate has described as grossly inadequate the N5 billion appropriated for the aviation sector in the 2006 budget, adding that it is going to amend civil aviation laws in the country that would ensure that only professionals are in charge of the sector.
Several other items like mobile phone handsets, photos, international passports, bank
cheques notebooks, wallets, bags, wrist watches, and other valuable jewelleries were also recovered.
A source disclosed to The Guardian that the cash and other items recovered from the crash site were handed over to the management of Sosoliso Airline. She explained that after the money which was counted in the presence of FAAN officials, police and other relevant agencies at the airport, the Airport Commandant, Group Emmanuel Ewuenwuen, directed it be handed over to the airline.
It was gathered that families of the deceased had began to collect certain items belonging to their loved ones involved in the ill fated plane.
