Kechi Okwuchi, 16, one of the survivors of the Sosoliso air crash Saturday, which claimed 103 lives at the Port Harcourt International Airport has been flown to the renowned Milpark Hospital, Johannes-burg, South Africa where she is receiving treatment.

Hospital sources told THISDAY last night that Kechi, a student of Loyola Jesuit College, Karu, Abuja, was still in a critical condition. When THISDAY visited the hospital and had a glimpse of the survivor, she laid unconcious on her hospital bed with several life support gadgets attached to her body.
Kechi who appeared to be in coma was covered up to her neck in a white sheet, her face and head, the only parts of the body visible to sight, were severely burnt.
THISDAY gathered that she was flown into Johannesburg and admitted into the hospital Monday.
Her mother, Mrs. Ijeoma Okwuchi, told THISDAY that she was thankful to God for sparing the life of her daughter.
She said although the girl was still in a critical condition, she believed and prayed that the good Lord who saved her in the crash will see her through the ordeal to full recovery.
"Our God does not labour in vain. Our God that saved her from the crash will see her through, I believe", she said.
Mrs. Okwuchi said her main focus was to continue to pray for Kechi's full recovery and that she was hopeful that in two weeks time, "my daughter will sit up and I will be able to speak with her again"
She thanked the Nigerian community in Johannesburg for their support at this trying time. Members of the Nigerian community have been trooping to the hospital to support and pray for her. Yesterday afternoon, a special prayer session was held by some members of the Nigerian community for Kechi's recovery at the hospital.
Milpark is one of the oldest and reputable private hospitals in South Africa. The hospital works in close collaboration with the Wits University Medical School known worldwide for its medical excellence.
