Mrs Safe Ntemusen, who lost her only child, Emmanuel, 11, student of Loyola Jesuit College says she's not mourning, but rejoicing. Even as the remains of the boy fondly called Professor E. T. Ntemusen was being buried Wednesday at the Port Harcourt City Cemetery, the middle aged woman, though looked very tired was praising God.

"I'm not crying. I'm not mourning. I'm rejoicing because I had a child that has made a name."

According to her, her son was nicknamed professor because he had a first class brain. "He was a star," she said, with a grin.
"My Emmanuel was fondly called Professor E. T. Ntemusen because of his brilliance.

But it is unfortunate that they didn't allow him to live. They didn't want him to come out and become what he ought to be. But I know that God Almighty is seated up, He is the owner of the universe, He seeth and He knoweth. I know that since He has allowed it to happen, I say thank you because He is God. I know that everybody would die. It is a matter of time. Thank God that God is still God. He sees everything, that's why I am consoled. I'm consoled because God is God.

Before my very eyes
I was at the airport at about one O'clock to pick up my dear son, then darkness came. For about 10 to 15 minutes, there was darkness from nowhere and we couldn't understand. After that, they said transformer was burning. We were looking for the transformer they said was burning but couldn't see any.

The Sosoliso staff that were with us didn't know that something was happening. They kept telling us that our children are coming, our children are coming… At a point, they told us that it was a chopper (Helicopter) that was burning. It was one of the parents that carried himself past the security personnel and we ran into the terminal. By the time we got in there, we saw that the plane was scattered. I slumped and died. I woke up and continued to pray that God should keep my son alive. I am still not losing hope because I know that God is God.

Why we call him professor
My son is a first class brain, that is why we call him professor. My son is only 12 years old but he is known abroad. His reputation abroad is enormous. My son is a brain. He is a star. Anywhere he goes, he's a star. Even people that have 20 children can't compare with my only child. They would be 20, but my star would come out before their 20. He is a star. Right from birth, we started calling him Professor E. T. Ntemusen. He's known all over the world.

I am not crying. I am not mourning. I am rejoicing because I had a child that has made a name. I'm not rich. I am only a health officer, but I mingled with staff of oil companies, top bankers. I know people that matter in Port Harcourt today because of my son. It was that little boy that has carried me all over. Because of my boy, Professor E. T. Ntemusen, everybody knows me.

Everywhere I go, I am hailed. It is because of my son, Emmanuel. Since I was born, I had not boarded a plane, but I started boarding planes because of Professor E. T. Ntemusen. He was a born professor. His dream was to be a doctor. His dream was to be big doctor.
