This Tragedy Affects All, Says Marwa

Former Military Adm-inistrator of Lagos State, Brig-General Mohamed Buba Marwa, yesterday described the Sosoliso Airline crash as a tragedy that affected all Nigerians and airline operators, in particular.

Former Military Adm-inistrator of Lagos State, Brig-General Mohamed Buba Marwa, yesterday described the Sosoliso Airline crash as a tragedy that affected all Nigerians and airline operators, in particular.

Marwa expressed the view at the gate of Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja shortly after condoling the authorities of the school which lost over 50 students in the crash.

"You know, this is a very sad tragedy in deed especially when you talk of kids. You know these are kids who don't know anything yet they are just beginning. My own daughter is a student of the school. They vacated yesterday and she is back in Kaduna where we live so it was a very shocking news we received soon after the convention. It is most unfortunate but at this point we can only say God knows best. My heart goes out to the parents, families, relatives of those who are involved in the crash it is most unfortunate.

"As you know as an operator any crash affects all of us it really doesn't matter which airline, we feel it is us because it is the same industry and we are all flying together. The industry is a very complex industry, you do the best you can to train the technical crew, to do all the checks, maintenance of aircraft and so on but when the aircraft is air borne you know the Almighty God rules and that is the truth. But I know the investigations would be done and we will know exactly what happened.

This is a great piece of history, which is dear to our hearts as people and very much appreciated.

Many thanks to the people who worked hard in the past and those who are still making efforts to keep the institution.

The labour is obviouly worth it. We are proud of you all.

A lot still to be done, with the motivation of the champions of this course, others will follow as well to maintain the institution

May God continue to keep the edifice for development of future generations to the glory of God and the benefits of our fatherland.
