Nineteen Nigerian nationals have been deported to Lagos following the rejection of their asylum applications.
The 19 were sent back to their home countries on a special flight chartered by the Garda National Immigration Bureau.
They had all been arrested for deportation yesterday following the Department of Justice's rejection of their applications for political asylum.
The Residents Against Racism organisation has slammed the move, claiming some of those deported were women and young girls facing a real prospect of female genital mutilation.
Spokesman Mark Grehan said he was "disgusted" with the action.
