Super Eagles and Marseille of France defender, Taiye Taiwo, has called on NFA to send invitations to various clubs in Europe, where Super Eagles players ply their trade if they wished to have all the invited players in camp before the December 27 date stipulated by the coaches for the players to be in camp.
Speaking, Tuesday, Taiye wondered why few days to the camping period, NFA was still foot dragging, and said nobody should blame any player that does not report in camp early.
"It surprises me that few days to the December 27 date, no letter of invitation has been sent to the various clubs in Europe, where Super Eagles players ply their trade. I do not know if they want us to pack our bags and baggage to the campsites without invitation.
"I believe those at NFA are professionals who know how these things work and as such, should treat matters of this magnitude in like manner.
"Meanwhile, as I speak to you now, I want to confirm that I have not received any letter from NFA and it is only when they do this that I will start thinking of coming to camp," he said.
"I do not know why the fire-brigade attitude of doing things has not left Nigeria. And since it has never done any good to our football, I think now is the right time for us to throw this attitude into the dustbin. Why I am saying all this is for football loving Nigerians not to blame any player that reports late to camp because, as things are now, it might be difficult for players to secure their release on that date.
He sounded optimistic that Super Eagles would lift the Nations Cup trophy, if everybody involved in the preparations of the Eagles throw away their differences and work as one family.
"Super Eagles are favoured to win the trophy but that can only be achieved if all the stake holders work as one family. If we work at cross-purposes because of what I may call individual interests, I am afraid we might pay dearly for it as we did for the World Cup. The ball is in our courts, the way we play it will determine the level it will go," he concluded.
