Robson calms Kanu fears

West Brom boss Bryan Robson has played down fears that in-form Kanu faces a spell on the sidelines after the Nigeria international picked up a dead leg in Saturday's goalless draw with Fulham.

West Brom boss Bryan Robson has played down fears that in-form Kanu faces a spell on the sidelines after the Nigeria international picked up a dead leg in Saturday's goalless draw with Fulham.

Kanu had to limp out of The Hawthorns clash in the 72nd minute and was replaced by Geoff Horsfield.

NWANKWO KANU Robson thinks it is only a short-term problem though, telling the club's official website: "Kanu has a dead leg but will be fine in a couple of days."

Robson was disappointed his team were unable to beat a Cottagers side that played the second period with only ten men following Luis Boa Morte's dismissal.

"I didn't enjoy the second half but the first half was good," he added. "There was some nice link-up play between Kanu and Ellington.

"Jonathan Greening also caused them problems down the right side and Junichi Inamoto had another good game.

"Ina and Ronnie Wallwork both played well in the middle of the park. Ina is in good form at the moment."
