The crime branch, on Saturday, busted yet another letter fraud case and arrested a 29-year-old Nigerian national, Tim Perkins, from Mahipalpur Chowk, just as he was leaving the spot after duping his victim, Sriram.

NEW DELHI: The crime branch, on Saturday, busted yet another letter fraud case and arrested a 29-year-old Nigerian national, Tim Perkins, from Mahipalpur Chowk, just as he was leaving the spot after duping his victim, Sriram. Perkins had collected a cheque of Rs 2,61,500 and Rs 5,000 in cash that he had taken from Sriram.

"We received a tip-off that Tim Perkins alias Aifuwa, a Nigerian national, was going to meet Sriram Mushty from Andhra Pradesh at Mahipalpur Chowk and laid an ambush," said Tejinder Luthra, deputy commissioner of police (crime branch).

"As soon as the man was spotted, our officers surrounded him. We seized the cheque and cash from him. Perkins did not have a passport or any other valid document on him," Luthra added.

During his interrogation, Perkins revealed that he was a sociology graduate from Benin City in Nigeria. He was currently residing in south Delhi. He confessed to have been involved in several cases of cheating across India
