Treat Alamieyeseigha like a terrorist

The Federal Government has been advised to act fast to bundle the embattled Governor Diepreye Alamieyseigha of Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha of Bayelsa state out to London to face trial or risk the corporate existence of the nation.

The Federal Government has been advised to act fast to bundle the embattled Governor Diepreye Alamieyseigha of Bayelsa state out to London to face trial or risk the corporate existence of the nation.

This is because of the governor alleged's "strong financial muscle and capability to cause mayhem with the notorious Bayelsa Volunteers."

This is the submission of a Former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Heinekien Lokpobiri, in an exclusive interview with Sunday Sun.

Lokpobiri, who a few years ago, publicly accused the governor of "mindless looting of the state treasury", predicted a situation "where the mass poverty of the people is exploited to enlist some youths for suicide bombing if the central government delayed action":

FG should arrest Alamieyseigha
"As far as we are concerned, the President has a greater obligation to the people of Bayelsa state. We are waiting for the Federal Government, Mr. President in particular to take some extra-legal steps in this matter like arresting him and take him back to the United Kingdom to face the trial because when he is here, he is going to pose a big security threat to the corporate existence of Nigeria. He has so much money and because of the poverty some of those youths could be paid to commit suicide like suicide bombers.
"I believe that Nigeria has to do whatever is legal and extra legal to prevent Alamieyeseigha from remaining as governor of Bayelsa state because he is a very powerful man, a man the Nigerian government could not check from stealing, British government cannot stop from escaping. So he should be treated as a terrorist because he has capability of causing civil war."

Bayelsa Youth and Alamieyeseigha
"No Bayelsa youth, Ijaw youth or Egbesu youth will take the risk of going to die for Alamieyeseigha. Even if he pays them, they will take the money as part of the money he stole and is returning to them. So, I don't foresee a situation like that, exerpt a few miscreants that he could pay. But if it happens, you cannot kill the whole Bayelsans. The people of Bayelsa will rise up in their numbers against such action."

Resignation
"Let him (governor) take the honourable path of resigning instead of waiting for the Impeachment by the state House of Assembly. I commend the state lawmakers for their courage to perform their constitutional duties and task the Federal Government to provide them the relevant security for the House to do its constitutional job."
