Lagos, Nigeria, 11/26 - The European Commission (EC) has approved 3.8 billion naira for a three-year project to assist Nigeria`s anti-graft Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other law enforcement agencies (133 naira=US$1).
The money will also help provide technical support, training of personnel and capacity building of the judicial system in all the 36 states of the federation.
The programme, which runs from 2005 to 2008, is part of the EC`s project aimed at enhancing good governance, accountability and checking corruption, a government source said here Friday.
EFCC was set up in 1999 as part of President Olusegun Obasanjo`s avowed battle against corruption.
