BENIN - CITY-FORMER Senate chief whip, Senator Rowland Owie and the National vice chairman (South South) of the South South Peoples Assembly, Brig.General Idada Ikponmwen, has described the return of governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha as victory for the people of the South South because according to them 'one of our vocal sons who has been fighting for the cause of our zone and as a result, he was set up by the enemies of democracy in this country so that we can be cowed, but today our voice is back and the struggle continues".

While Owie asked Nigerians to disregard the manner at which he came back and join the governor to fight an oppressive government, Idada who however acknowledged that the manner at which he came back was a problem to the country, in terms of national credibility, declared that it is a victory for Bayelsans and warned that the federal government would be braking the rules if any attempt is made to extradict him.
The duo spoke to Vanguard yesterday in Benin City.

According to Senator Owie 'the conspiracy against governor Alamieyeseigha by the Peoples Democratic Party government started long ago.
There was a time when unknown people planted bomb in his lodge, it was by God's grace that he was not killed. Enemies of Nigeria and the People of the South Southhave been looking for the heads of our vocal South South governors and legislators who wants to protect our people".

'The battle did not start today. We welcome him back home. When he spoke in London last week, assuring all his supporters that he will come back, I knew that God was preparing a way for him. We should disregard the way he came back because nothing was wrong with it. We should rather join him and fight bad government".

'There is a Benin parable that says you do not blame a woman who has been striped naked by rapist for taking another person's cloth to cover her self. Alamieyeseigha was being dealt with crudely by the PDP and its government. So, a crude survival method had to be adopted by the governor. Britain the home of freedom is aware of all the evils the PDP-led government is unleashing on Nigerians, hence they allow the man come home." Owie stated.

Idada said 'though the whole system sends a picture of an enigmatic, a pussle of a country. But you should remember that his arrest was politically motivated, therefore Bayelsans are rejoicing.
