Only God can tell me to retire

If there is anyone who qualified to be called a workaholic in the real sense of it, Pastor (Prof.) S.O. Ewuola is one. Sitting on two distinctive professorial seats, one in the academic world and the other in the spiritual world, he has refused to give up one for the other as he discharges the two with utmost dedication.

Pastor Ewuola is an embodiment of energy, humility, brilliance and charisma. Though his achievement is not tied to material possessions, this man worth several millions of naira.
Born close to six decades ago, Pastor Ewuola, who insists that the title of pastor comes before that of professor, said that he is not ready to retire.

Admitting the fact that being a professor of Agricultural Extension at the Federal University of Technology, Akure and at the same time the Deputy General Overseer of Gospel Faith Mission International has not been easy, he said that God has been his source of strength

Coping with both
By the grace of God, my secular job has never suffered for a single day because of my position in the church and vice-versa. I agree that both are very demanding, nevertheless, I have been managing both effectively. The headquarters of my church is in Ibadan and recently we moved to Lagos. This makes me travel to Ibadan and Lagos from Akure almost every two days. I have a very good car and a very hardworking driver. This makes my movement to be very easy. Many times, I do a lot of work inside the car when on journey. Above all, God has been the source of my strength. I have a lot of responsibilities in my school and church. For example, I am currently the president of the outreach ministry of the church known as the pacesetter assembly. This arm takes care of the elite in our society.

Though every member in the church is equally important, we should realize that some people may not have the time usually given to church services due to the kind of work they do.

Take, for instance, doctors, nurses, top civil servants, politicians, military and police officers, etc, are always on one assignment or the others we established a kind of assembly to cater for their spiritual need. Currently, we have 22 of such assemblies round the country and we intend to establish such in every town in the country. You see I am always on the road all the time, and I'm not considering retirement from my secular job despite the burden, for I can only resign if God ask me to. I'm not a lecturer at the expense of church activities and not a pastor at the expense of lecturing.

Ban on miracle show on TV
Although, it is very difficult to ban miracles as they are act of God not human, it is still very important to know that government in its own wisdom is trying to save the church from ridicule and mockery as a lot of things are being shown on TV today in form of miracles .So, if government can regulate it, it will be a most welcome development. But government must be honest with the way it handles the matter.

Words for Nigerians
Nigerians should try and move close to God because it is only righteousness that exalt a nation. I therefore appeal to all Nigerians to serve God the more because God is highly interested in lifting this country up, if only we can be righteous in our day to day activities.

Scholarship
Every year, we give scholarship to indigent students of tertiary institutions both within and outside the church. This year alone we have given 33 students scholarship worth six hundred and fifty thousand naira and we are not relenting in our efforts.

Family
I'm married with four children, two boys and two girls. My family has been most supportive. Their support from home front has been most rewarding and this has encouraged and helped me so much in the ministry.
