The two weeks old exchange of words between former Information Minister, Chief Alex Akinyele and Lagos radical lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, has been resolved by the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Festus Adesanoye.

The duo had engaged in a hot media war over the cosmetic surgery that claimed the life of the late First Lady, Mrs Stella Obasanjo in Spain.

Disturbed at the turn of events, the Oba had on Monday, November 7, 2005 called up his two subjects and directed them to cease fire and save the town and the Yoruba race from embarrassment.
Akinyele, who fired the first salvo on November 2, 2005, promptly complied .

He told Daily Sun, that as a "loyal chief who has every respect for his king, that is the end of the literary outing between me and Chief Fawehinmi."

According to the Ondo chief, "by a directive of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Adesanoye, I have to sheathe my sword. He called me on telephone and he appealed to me to stop any further exchanges with Chief Gani Fawehinmi. His majesty told me also that he has issued the same appeal to Gani. I was shocked to see the diarrhea of the mouth still flowing on Friday."

Akinyele, who lost a relation to childbirth on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, said he has decided to lie low and accord the deceased due respect, in accordance with the tradition of his people.
