A woman in Ondo State, who abandoned her 20-day-old baby boy, has blamed her woes on the man who put her in a family way and abandoned her. She also rained curses on the man:
"May he move from one calamity to the other," she cursed.
The baby, who was wrapped in a cloth, was abandoned at Oja-Oba, in Ijebu-Owo, with a written note.
In the seven-paragraph note, the unidentified mother said: "The man who impregnated me assured me of being responsible for the pregnancy, only to abandon me half-way."
She said all efforts to trace the father of her baby through his address and cell phone number proved abortive, as he was said to have moved out of the house he was residing at Agbowo, in Oyo State.
"Also, his GSM number had been permanently switched off," she said.
She lamented that her parents, who live in the northern part of the country, would disown her if they hear of the pregnancy, adding, "they use to see me as an innocent and responsible daughter in the family."
The woman, in the note, appealed to whoever would pick up the baby to take proper care of him.
"Take care of him well. The fault is from me, I would not have behaved this way, but circumstances forced me to do so," she said.
The woman said she gave the baby identification mark that would enable her to recognise the baby if he eventually survives all the suffering."
