National Leader of Action Alliance (AA), Owelle Rochas Okorocha, yesterday gave a graphic detail of how he escaped death in the ill-fated Boeing 747 of Bellview Airline that crashed Saturday night enroute Lagos to Abuja.

In a statement by Okorocha's Personal Assistant, Mr. Uche Nwosu, "contrary to widely circulated reports in some media that Owelle Okorocha was on board of the Bellview Airline which crashed on October 22, I wish to state categorically that Owelle Okorocha was not on board of the aircraft."
He said Okorocha was actually meant to travel to Abuja with the aircraft and indeed bought ticket only for "him to cancel the trip at the last minute." He said it was also true that Okorocha was at the VIP Lounge of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, but didn't travel with the aircraft.
Nwosu said they have been receiving calls from many Nigerians both within and outside the country, but enjoined all Okorocha's well wishers to remain calm. Nwosu expressed gratitude to concerned Nigerians, "for their love, concern, care and prayer."
Okorocha prayed for the family of the victims in the ill-fated flight, saying may God give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
It was widely reported on Sunday that Okorocha was on board Bellview Airline that crashed in Lisa village, Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State three minutes after taking off in Lagos.
