THERE was confusion in densely populated areas of Ibadan yesterday when a supposed serial rapist was arrested by men of the Odua Peoples Congress OPC at Isale Aafa area of the city.
IBADAN—THERE was confusion in densely populated areas of Ibadan yesterday when a supposed serial rapist was arrested by men of the Odua Peoples Congress OPC at Isale Aafa area of the city. The middle aged man whose real name was given as Hazeem was alleged to have been raping married women and nursing mothers in the areas in the last two years especially whenever he noticed that their husbands were not around.
It was gathered that following persistent complaints by women at Labiran and Isale Aafa areas of Ibadan that one strange man has been visiting their homes at odd hours and inflicting terror on them, Landlords in the areas were said to have invited members of the OPC with the aim of tracking down the suspect.
The OPC men, it was learnt finally nabbed the suspects on Tuesday morning around 1.am at Isale Aafa area while trying to enter one of the houses.
According to eyewitnesses, Jobodo always rubbed his body with used black engine oil to create the impression that he is a spirit and in the process forced his way into the rooms of unsuspecting married and nursing mothers and then have carnal knowledge of the women.
At the last count, residents of the area alleged that over ten women have fallen victims to the devilish acts of the suspect with three of them confessing to newsmen that they have had encounter with him.
One of the victims (names withheld) narrated how the suspect invaded her home cut her hand with knife and dispossed her of N5, 000 before she was rescued.
The two other women who decline to give their names said that Jobodo stormed their home with black engine oil all over his body and forcefully had sex with them when their husbands were not around.
The moment news spread around that Jobodo has been arrested, residents of the areas mobilized themselves to lynch the suspect.
