The Republic`s Minister for Justice Michael McDowell has arranged for a stay to be put on Olivia Agbon Lahor`s deportation pending further investigation.
Her autistic child is currently waiting assessment by medical experts in Ireland.
The family had fled Nigeria after receiving death threats when her journalist husband wrote an article exposing a drug baron.
