Three suspects have been arrested by the police in Oyo state in connection with the killing last saturday of Rauf Asikolaye a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saki area of the State during the violence clash that followed the party's congress in the area.

Party's rival groups said to belong to Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu and the state Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, engaged themselves in a free-for all fight in Saki after the congress during which Asikolaye was killed
The supporters of the groups had earlier held a separate elections and elected parallel party officers before the violence ensued in front of Abayomi Filling Station in the sleepy town and in the ensuing melee in which dangerous weapons were freely used, Asikolaye was hacked down while scores of others were injured.
The state Police Commissioner, Alhaji Audu Abubakar, who confirmed the arrest said that three of the suspects of the murder had been arrested. They are. Taju Bale, Rashidi Afolabi and Razak Alapasa.
The commissioner said those arrested had already been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
He said the police were also on the trail of some other suspects who fled the town in the wake of the crisis, adding that normalcy and relative peace had been restored to the troubled town.
Pockets of violence marred the conduct of the PDP ward and council congresses in at some local governments area of the State on Saturday.
In Akinyele Local Government, some people were injured during a violence clash.
