Last Thursday, a suspected ritualist, who allegedly concealed a kid inside a cooler was caught and killed by eagle eyed members of the public, who nabbed him and immediately set him on fire in front of Ikorodu local government headquarters, Lagos.
Saturday Champion gathered that a resident of the area who was acquainted with the suspect tipped-off the public who all the while have been suspecting his movement.
Passers-by, a witness said immediately intercepted the man who was carrying the cooler.
On opening the cooler a kid was found and the angry mob promptly set the suspect ablaze.
Also, yesterday at Bariga Lagos, a woman who was allegedly attempting to kidnap two school children was set ablaze equally by angry mob.
Saturday Champion reporter who was at the scene of the incident gathered that the woman was earlier caught on Tuesday with a child, she was attempting to kidnap at the Berger-Bariga bridge.
On interrogation, the woman who was handed over to police was said to have explained that the child was only asking her for direction..
After thorough interrogation by the police, the woman was allegedly set free following the explanation that she was only trying to help the boy.
However, on Friday at Bariga junction, the woman was allegedly sighted again with two kids and on interrogation by suspecting passers-by she was said to have explained that she was only asking the children some questions.
Saturday Champion gathered that the woman disguised as a mad woman, but luck ran out on her when a passer-by identified her as the same person caught with some kids few days earlier.
This it was learnt infuriated the crowd which then beat up the woman.
We also gathered the woman confessed to be working for a traditional ruler (Oba) in the area.
When Saturday Champion arrived at the scene of the incident, the woman had been beaten to stupor.
All effort made to interview her failed. For hours the mob beat, hit and maimed the suspected ritualist until they eventually set her ablaze.
