WARRI - THREE months after he was allegedly kidnapped by some militant youths in connection with the crisis between the Oto-Iwhreko and Ekiugbo communities in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state over the ownership of Ughelli main market, a youth leader, Mr. Aghogho Odugbo has not been found.

Following mounting tension in the communities over the abduction, however, mobile policemen were recently drafted to the communities to ensure that anarchy was not let loose. Two suspects believed to be among the kidnappers were arrested but the gang leader is still at large.

Investigations by Vanguard showed that anxiety heightened in the town when some unknown persons attempted to raze some shops in the market but good samaritans put off the fire.

Residents of the area have been living in fear in the past few weeks as a result of the development. The two suspects, according to a police source, have been whisked to Asaba for interrogation.

The Divisional Police Officer for the area, Mr. Innocent Okeanonife and his men were learnt to have launched a manhunt for the leader of the kidnap gang while security has been beefed up at the market.

Chairman of the Local Government, Mr. E. Idisi has called for calm while the authorities have warned militant youths, parading the town with guns and other weapons at night under the guise of vigilante group, to surrender the guns to the police or face the law when caught.
