Asari: Monarch wants other militia leaders arrested

Former Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Robinson O. Robinson, has asked the federal government to arrest all other ethnic militia leaders in the country to give credibility to its fight against agitations and disabuse the public mind of selective justice.

Former Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Robinson O. Robinson, has asked the federal government to arrest all other ethnic militia leaders in the country to give credibility to its fight against agitations and disabuse the public mind of selective justice.

Eze Robinson who is the Eze Egbeye Logbo of Egbeyeland, told Saturday Sun in Port-Harcourt that the war against ethnic militia should be total and there should be no sacred cow.

He said other ethnic militia leaders such as Gani Adams of the OPC, Ralf Uwazuruike of MASSOB have done worse than Dokubo, and wondered why they should be walking free while Dokubo would be languishing in prison custody with treason charges hanging on his neck.

"Why should Uwazuruike who has committed the greatest treason by trying to create another country within the country be roaming the street free and Dokubo who's only asking for better deal for the Niger Deltans be facing treason charges. If someone should be arrested for treason it should not be Dokubo".

On the ongoing trial of Governor Alamieyeseigha of Bayelsa in London, the royal father said if really the governor committed the offence of money laundering, he should be allowed to carry the cross as a deterrent to other corrupt public office holders.

"There is need for our public office holders to be transparent and uphold the trust reposed on them by the electorate. If he's guilty as charged, let him carry his cross. What I will not subscribe to is a situation where he's being set up" he said.

Eze Robinson however urged the federal government to speed up efforts to bring down the prices of essential commodities because "there is glaring hunger and frustration in the land due to some government policies.
He also wants an improvement in the educational sector, social infrastructure and security.
