It is now known that no amount of protests and demonstration by the youths of the Niger Delta region will make President Olusegun Obasanjo to change his mind on those who have been appointment to serve in the Board of the Niger Delta development Commission (NDDC).
The Executive Director of Finance and Administration of the Commission Mr. Timi Alaibe made this known in a chat with newsmakers during the week in Port Harcourt.
He frowned at the attitude of the Niger Delta Youths who protests any time their sons and daughters are appointed into public offices, adding that such action is not only unethical but demonstrate lack of indiscipline among the youths of the area. He maintained that such things is not common in the Northern part of the country. He warned of the negative consequence in future.
The Director explained that part of the delay in the swearing ceremony of the list of those who have been nominated to serve in the board is because the list will still go to the National Assembly for necessary clearance.
Mr. Timi Alaibe appealed to youths in the Niger Delta to exercise patience over the swearing-in-ceremony of those who have been appointed to replace those who have been relieved of their positions. He also called for a change of heart among the youths in the area.
