Dr. Fred Odutola stated this yesterday in Lagos at a press briefing on the forthcoming luncheon in Lagos.
The luncheon is scheduled to take place on October 10 at Sheraton Hotel and Towers Ikeja, with President Olusegun Obasanjo as the special guest of honour, while Mr. Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa will deliver a special lecture.
He said the society has translated the Bible into about 18 Nigerian languages, while the New Testament has been translated into 60 languages, adding that the society is faced with the responsibility of translating and producing special Bible including distribution.
The forum Chairman, Mrs. Ifie Ezehwaugwoke, said the society has been registering professional men and women from all walks of life with a strong desire to further spread of the gospel as special members of the society.
"Two years ago, the special members forum was formerly inaugurated to enable the members interact amongst themselves, support and initiate programmes that will be used to raise funds for this great task of translation, publishing and distribution of the Bible to all that have need of it. "The forthcoming maiden annual luncheon in one of such programme in the pipeline for raising funds to support this cause.
She explained that Governor Peter Odili, River State governor will be the guest of honour, while Dr. Felix Ohiewerei will be the Chairman of the occation .
She further explained that a special lecture tagged "Come and enlarge your coast", adding that the invitation cards are sold at all their offices, while free Bibles will be given out at the occasion.
