We won't miss Okocha - Eguavoen

Super Eagles Chief Coach, Austin Eguavoen, said on Wednesday that the absence of skipper Austin Okocha would not affect the tempo of play of his team against the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Saturday.

Super Eagles Chief Coach, Austin Eguavoen, said on Wednesday that the absence of skipper Austin Okocha would not affect the tempo of play of his team against the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Saturday.

The coach told our correspondent after the training session at the Abuja national Stadium - that there were enough players who would play his position, good enough to deliver the desired results.

'There are 22 players in camp - and if Okocha is not playing I think it doesn't matter, he is injured and there is nothing anybody can do about it," he said.

He said the Eagles would simply focus on winning the match on Saturday, while they would wait for a possible slip from the Angolans in Kigali.

Meanwhile, Eagles' skipper said he was not happy to be out of the crucial match due to injury, but would certainly be expecting a good result against Zimbabwe on Saturday.

According to him, his presence in camp was to give the players the needed support towards the task of qualification, even though Bolton Wanderers wanted him to stay back in England.

'I feel very bad not playing in a game like this, I think it is something like a bad luck, but I am here to support the team, I think they need my support for this game," he said.
