Aghahowa, Oruma Arrive, Say Nigerians Will Celebrate

Super Eagles striker Julius Aghahowa arrived Lagos yesterday evening after a long and tedious flight from Ukraine and immediately predicted that he was sure Nigerians would have something to celebrate on Saturday evening.

Super Eagles striker Julius Aghahowa arrived Lagos yesterday evening after a long and tedious flight from Ukraine and immediately predicted that he was sure Nigerians would have something to celebrate on Saturday evening.
Also in yesterday was midfield-Wilson Oruma, who caught the last Bellview flight to Abuja.

Aghahowa, who arrived on board a Lufthansa flight which touched down at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos at about 5.30pm, said although he knew that Nigeriaâ??s World Cup fate was no longer in their hands, he had a gut feeling that the Super Eagles would still be in Germany 2006.

â??Iâ??m not only confident that weâ??ll beat Zimbabwe on Saturday, but Iâ??m also having this feeling that we will party throughout the night because Rwanda will do us a favour by holding Angola,â?? he said as he dashed off.
Aghahowa last played for the Eagles in their laboured 2-0 win over Gabon in Port Harcourt in March. He passed up playing a Monday league game for Shakhtar Donetsk in order to report to camp.

Nigeria needs the match in Kigali to end in either a draw or win for the Wasps for the Eagles to be able to upstage Angola.

Some of the early arrivals include Esperance of Tunisia defender Obinna Nwaneri and Sani Kaita, who recently signed for Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam. The players arrived the Eagles Hotel on Monday evening.

Kaita, for one, failed to join his new club after he received his work permit late Friday. He will now join them after the Zimbabwe match.

Also in camp are seven home-based players invited for the encounter. They are Enyimba skipper and goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba as well as his club mates Odeh Ogar and Nojim Raji.

Daddy Bazuaye and Joseph Akpala are from Insurance while Kelechi Osunwa stars for Dolphins. Nasiru Salihu is from Nasarawa United.

All coaches led by head coach Austin Eguavoen are already in camp.
Meanwhile, NFA officials have said that the Warriors of Zimbabwe are expected in Abuja today ahead of this weekendâ??s World Cup clash.

The Zimbabweans have been booked into the Arcade Hotel in Abuja.

The Warriors, who lost 3-0 to Eagles in the reverse fixture last year, have already qualified for next yearâ??s African Nations Cup in Egypt.
