In an effort for people to turn away from their evil ways and return to God for their solution, men of God have discovered three fresh human heads in a community in Item, Bende local government area of Abia state.
The discovery which took place on the 31st of December, 2004, saw thousands of people mainly youths and women, turning out at the community field to confess their sins including those who have rendered people useless in the area.
Our reporter who was in community reports that the men of God who were seven in numbers prayed and anointed people, saw a man in his 80's name (withheld) who confessed to the crowd that he killed a family in which the community have been searching for. He made it clear that he did it to get rich by March 2005. It was a thug of war before the killer could show the men of God where he deposited the heads.
The killer who later pleaded with the community and the families of the deceased not to kill him but to temper justice with mercy for the evil that he has committed in the land.
There was pandemonium as people screamed, cried and ran helter skelter when the evil man opened where he hid the heads of a family, which made up of women, her son and the husband.
He also confessed of killing over eight people and used their heads for ritual purposes and the practice of replacing himself whenever his occults members informed him that time for him to die has drawn closer. He went further to name some youths whom he had rendered useless.
The men of God from different churches in Abia and Imo State later anointed the community and later buried the heads.
Our reporter who was prevented from taking the pictures of the heads, spoke with the son of the killer, who gave his name as Mr. Ogwo, described his father's attitude as barbaric and called on people to make sure that they eliminate anyone who does not want the community to progress.
It would be recalled that over 94 percent of youths (male) have been rendered useless in the community since 1976.
During confession at the prayer sessions, about 99 percent of girls confessed of committing abortion, while 80 percent of men confessed of partaking in the abortion.
In a chat with one of the pastors, Rev. Dr. Ndukwo hinted that the situations of the youths would change in the community in as much as they have confessed their sins and accepted to forsake them. The clergyman urged other communities to organize a prayer session so that their lands would be handed over to God.
Those who spoke with The Midweek Telegraph said that such a thing has not taken place in the community before. According to Madam Uzunma Okorie, " We don't know that people are responsible for the down fall of this community in the recent time, despite he efforts of our children. But thank God that we have been vindicated by the blood of Jesus."
Investigation by our reporter revealed that there are about three communities that are passing through similar hard time. Will they comply? Only the communities can tell, as youths have been rendered useless in the three communities.
