A Nigerian man accused of identity theft now faces federal charges.
Hammed Olarewaju Marbephar was indicted in federal court for bank fraud. Lufkin police say he opened an account at the Bank of America on South John Redditt. Bank tellers noticed something strange about the paperwork he used to open his account. When he returned to the bank, they called police.
Most of his victims are in Houston, but Marbephar reportedly has several victims in Lufkin.
