Financial controller of the company, Mr Olaiyi Fashanu told the House of Representatives Committee investigating tax evasion allegations levelled against Chevron that the alleged $10 billion tax fraud by the firm was false.
He said the allegations arose from the ignorance of JV operations and deferred accounting method in some quarters.
ABZ consortium, erstwhile consultants to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had levelled allegations of $10 billion tax evasion against Chevron in 1999.
