A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Owoeye (representing Oye I) has denied that the lawmakers received N2 million bribe each from Governor Ayodele Fayose as alleged by the embattled deputy Governor, Mr Abiodun Aluko to move to impeach him (Aluko).

On Monday, the Deputy Governor had accused the state House of Assembly of receiving N2 million bribe from the governor to facilitate his planned impeachment.
Hon. Owoeye told journalists Tuesday in Oye-Ekiti at an enlightenment rally organised by the Oye local government chairman, Mr Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, that the Assembly only received N5 million constituency allowances from the government.
According to him, "the budget department of the Assembly clearly stated that there should be constituency allowances for projects and in line with the constitution, the Governor approved N5 million for constituency projects of the members of the Assembly."
He pointed out that Osun State government had approved N20 million while Ondo State granted N10 million for constituency projects for each of the members of the state Assemblies, but that of Ekiti is only N5 million.
The constituency projects, he said, were kicked off by Governor Fayose about 16 days ago at Igbara, Okemesi and other areas.
He disclosed that when the impeachment notice was served in the assembly, all the members signed it except the Speaker Hon. Aderemi Friday and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Frankline Olatinbosun because they were top officers of the legislative body.
