MANCHESTER UNITED are finally about to seal the singing of Nigerian wonderkid John Obi Mikel from Norwegian club Lyn Oslo.
Lyn director Morgan Andersen said the player - who has been at the centre of a bitter tug of war between United and Chelsea - would go to Old Trafford next season.
FIFA had sent the player back to Norway until the end of the year, with the Oslo club saying he will stay there for the whole season before going to Manchester.
But the long drawn out transfer saga may not be done and dusted yet as Mikel - who has linked back up with Lyn for training - not pledging his future to anyone.
The 19-year-old striker had signed for United in April before performing a u-turn and claiming he was made to do so against his will and that he actually wanted to join Chelsea.
And Mikel would only say: "I am here to play - I have to wait and see, but I want to play football."
