Over $700 million (about N93.6 billion) has so far been recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from advanced fee (419) fraudsters and other suspects of economic crime in the country.

Many suspects including top shots, are currently being prosecuted by the EFCC as part of the Federal Government's determination to rid the country of corruption.
Minister for State for Agriculture, Mr. Bamidele Dada, made the disclosure in Parth, Western Australia, during a meeting with members of Western Australia Chamber of Commerce.
Also at the meeting, Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola explained to members of the chamber that the state is blessed with a number of economic potentials which are attractive to investors.
Both Ambassador Dada and Governor Oyinlola who used the opportunity to call on Australian businessmen to invest in the solid minerals and agricultural sector, reassured the potential investors of the country's conducive environment.
Ambasador Dada, who represented the Federal Government at the parley stressed that unlike in the past, Nigeria now has a better record of transparency in governance while security of foreign investment is guaranteed by government.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Kayode Oladeji, who was on Oyinlola entourage said the state's huge investment infrastructural development was aimed at providing a solid base for industrial growth in view of the fact that the private sector is in a better position to establish industries.
Governor Oyinlola also disclosed that the ongoing construction work in three industrial estates in the state was to provide investors with ready-made sites for their establishment.
He then promised tax holiday for a reasonable period of time to people who establish manufacturing or processing outfits in the state.
In his response, the president of the Western Australia Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ain Walker was quoted saying that a comprehensive package of investment plans would soon be worked out between his chamber and the Osun state government.
