Reports reaching our news desk from the Federal University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State says the Department of Students Affairs of the institution has been set on fire.
A student source who called the Telegraph, Friday morning, reports that cultists went on rampage in the cover of the night and set the students affairs department on fire.
And while the authorities who discovered the ruin that suddenly engulfed the institution of higher studies were trying to fathom what went wrong, students the source said, went on demonstration in the early hours of Friday.
According to him, the demonstration has cost the institution another serious damage as some of the school's hostels became targets of destruction.
The situation has placed the school's management at a fix, as things have gone beyond control.
Asked what is the situation of the ongoing examination on campus, the source lamented that he was not sure that examination might continue as lives and property seem unsafe on the UNIUYO campus.
He further told our man that it was only the General Studies examination courses that have been written, while the departmental courses are fixed to commence next week Monday.
A close trace of cult activities in UNIUYO shows that the campus is currently experiencing a re-emergence of cult-related activities in the campus.
It would be recalled that during the administration of Professor Fula Lasisi as the Vice Chancellor of the institution, UNIUYO was being rated as one of the most notorious institutions in the country after UNIPORT and UNICAL.
