Plateau ANPP Supports Useni's Leadership

As efforts are being intensified to resolve the crises and reconcile the two factions of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) at the national level, Plateau State chapter of the party has thrown its weight behind General Jeremiah Useni's (rtd) leadership of the party.

As efforts are being intensified to resolve the crises and reconcile the two factions of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) at the national level, Plateau State chapter of the party has thrown its weight behind General Jeremiah Useni's (rtd) leadership of the party. While pledging allegiance to the Board of Trustees.

Chairman of the state chapte Simon Barry told newsmen at the end of an extended meeting of his committe at the weekend that far reaching decisions were taken at the meeting.

"We resolved that we have absolute confidence in the acting Chairman, General Jeremiah Useni (rtd) and we also passed a vote of confidence on the board of trustees. But our loyalty is with Useni."

According to him, the party views as uncharitable, the defection of Commodore Jonah Jang (rtd) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) adding that his departure from ANPP did not constitute any serious casualty.

"Jang went back to the PDP without any serious casualty, he more or less left ANPP alone. We have cross checked our membership and its still intact. We were already making moves to suspend him (for anti-party activities) when he hurriedly sent his letter of withdrawal. Though he has all the right to belong to any association, it was uncharitable for him to have left without informing his ward, his local government, his state and the national body."

Barry said the meeting also resolved that the Jos North election be held as soon as possible as there was no justification for its delay by the state government.
