SUPER Eagles' Browns Resort abode in Algarve, Portugal, came alive yesterday when West Brom's striker, Nwankwo Kanu led a deluge of European players to join their mates for Sunday's make or mar World Cup qualifier against the Desert Warriors of Algeria in Oran.
The Camp which had hitherto been empty now boasts of 15 players. Co-ordinator of the Super Eagles Sumonu Bello-Osagie who was excited with the new arrivals said that the camp was brimming with enthusiasm for the task ahead on Sunday. Players in camp as at the time Sports Vanguard's hotline hooked the Eagles camp include, Nwankwo Kanu, Austine Ejide, Wilson Oruma, Christian Ogbodo, Ayo Makinwa, Chidi Ordia, Taye Taiwo, Osaze Odemwingie and Sani Kaita. Others are John Utaka, Greg Etafia, Garba Lawal, Isaac Promise and Vincent Enyeama. The Camp Co-ordinator said that the arrival of the players had boosted the sagging morale of the players and their technical crew for the battle of Oran.
"I must tell you that we were relieved with the arrival of the players yesterday", Osagie informed Sports Vanguard, noting that they have enough players to train well before the Sunday cracker.
"All the players know the task at hand and they do things without waiting to be told. They are like soldiers who know their mission. And that mission is a no retreat no surrender one. All we want on Sunday is to battle Algeria and come out victorious. That is the only way we can be on course for the World Cup", the big Bello said.
He also informed that the team would depart Portugal for Algeria on Thursday to get used to everything before the D'day. "We are moving over to Algeria on Thursday. We have made arrangements for our travel. I hope you know that we are not taking chances for anything. This informed our decision to get to Algeria on time". He also said that the players were happy with the state of facilities at the Browns Resort in Algarve, Portugal. "It is a big place with all the modern facilities. Top European clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan etc make use of the place. The players really like the place", the co-ordinator added.
