Joey Yobo believes all the pressure is on the Redshite ahead of the 201st Merseyside derby on Sunday. The Nigerian international was speaking to evertonfc.com and revealed the Everton squad are in fine spirit and looking forward to taking on Liverpool in a game that will almost certainly decide who qualifies for the Champions league next season.

'There's a lot at stake this time," Yobo told evertonfc.com.

'They're behind us and they're chasing us. They want to go above us to get the Champions League spot while we want to stay there. There's a lot at stake but we know the situation. It's not just a local derby, the three points are very important.

'It was great in December when we beat them. It had been a long time since we'd beaten them either at Goodison or at Anfield. There was a great atmosphere at Goodison, which was very important.

'But this is a different game because they'll be looking at this game and thinking that if they lose to us or drop points then it will be tough for them to get in the Champions League."

'We've been preparing well. After the game against Blackburn we've been working very hard. We're doing our best in training and we're looking forward to Sunday's game.

'It is a big game. It's always a big game against Liverpool. We're getting towards the end of the season, there's nine games to go now, and it's very important to us that we win as it is for the fans. We are all looking forward to the game.

'We're just taking it step by step. We know its Liverpool; we know we're ahead of them. We're not rushing, we're not panicking. We know it's a local derby and it's important for us to go there and get a result."

'It's a local derby and both sides want the three points," he said. 'It's a special game but at the end of the day both sides are after three points.

'A local derby sometimes doesn't bring out the best in you because the game can go either way. It's one of those games where you just have to give your best and anything can happen."
