A mild drama played itself out in Yenagoa last Wednesday evening when a man said to be in his 30's died and 'resurrected' after some hours only to die again.
A mild drama played itself out in Yenagoa last Wednesday evening when a man said to be in his 30's died and 'resurrected' after some hours only to die again. The drama, actually started in Onopa, a suburb of the town where the man resided. His wife had gone out only to return and find the door to their apartment securely locked.
All her attempts to get the key and open the place proved abortive. She was said to have broken the lock and forced her way in. a gory sight greeted her on entering the room as her husband, simply identified as Dennis, had tied his neck with a long rope and hanged it to the ceiling fan.
The bewildered woman raised an alarm which attracted sympathetic neigbours who assisted her in rushing him to the nearby Federal Medical Centre (FMC).
On getting there, the doctors on duty confirmed him dead. A highly emotional scenario was played out as relatives, well-wishers and friends cried endlessly on hearing the sad news. Some of the sympathisers went as far as jumping into the nearby drainage, not minding the quality of the attires they were wearing. As his corpse was wheeled to the mortuary, more weeping and wailing accompanied it.
A few hours later, shouts of joy and happiness rented the air when news filtered out from those who were watching the mortuary process that the dead man was back to life. The 'miracle' was heard all over the streets of Yenagoa and in no time the FMC premises was jam-packed with people who waited to witness the miracle.
Jubilant sympathisers carried the body of the 'resurrected' man back to the doctors for examination and confirmation.
However, the doctors after doing another round of medical examination, came out with the verdict that what the sympathisers thought was a 'miracle' was a fluke the Dennis was dead. Meanwhile, nobody can comprehend what led to Dennis' death as he is said to have lived a comfortable and healthy life, being a landlord. The police have reportedly arrested his wife for interrogation on the cause of his death.
