OSUN State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola yesterday sworn-in the newly reconstituted 11 members of the state executive with a warning to them to work hard as a team.
OSOGBO - OSUN State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola yesterday sworn-in the newly reconstituted 11 members of the state executive with a warning to them to work hard as a team.
Governor Oyinlola stated that the last month's dissolution of the state executive has nothing to do with the competence of the former members, saying "those dropped from the cabinet have not been found guilty of any dismeanour".
" We have decided to rejig the team in an attempt to re-position the cabinet for a more effective service delivery to the citizenry", he said.
While expressing his appreciation to the former cabinet members who were dropped, governor Oyinlola expressed the hope that they would continue to work tirelessly for the success of the government in the state.
His words: "Your personal attributes have been brought on my decision to appoint you as commissioners. In effect, you must realise that government reposes absolute confidence in you and therefore has all faith in our ability to discharge the duties and responsibilities covered by your new appointments.
"As you may be aware, the focus of our government remains the welfare of the general citizenry in the state. You are therefore placed in positions in which you must directly improve upon the lives of the people.
"You are reminded of the fact that our opponents may resort to using various tactics and propaganda just to disrupt our attention. We must show great restraint and maturity in dealing with each other", he added.
The three new commissioners and their portfolios are Mr. Obafemi Fagbola (Water Resources and Rural Development), Prof. M.O. Opeloye (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs) and Mr. M.T. Abioye (Information and Women Affairs).
The other eight that retained their portfolios are Barrister Gbadegesin Adedeji (Justice), Alahji Tajudeen Oladipo (Finance and Economic Development), Mr. Akintola Titiloye (Agriculture and Natural Resources), Alahji Ganiyu Ajibola Lawal (Lands and Physical Planning), Mrs. Bunmi Famoriyo (Education), Dr. Bayo Faforiji (Works and Transport), Mr. Sola Oladeinde (Commerce, Industry and Co-operatives) and Mr. Lanre Afolabi (Health).
