Aleader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Hope Uzodimma has dismissed reports of a feud between the partyís chairman, Dr. Ahmadu Ali and President Olusegun Obasanjo, stating that it was an attempt to rubbish the president's anti-corruption crusade.

The inclusion of some relations of the party chairman in the list of those recently appointed board members of parastatals and agencies and the manner of the report Uzodimma stated, clearly showed an attempt to create a wedge between the president and some of his close confidants.

The PDP stalwart who spoke with journalists in Lagos yesterday, stated that the purported feud and others mentioned in the reports, was non-existent, adding that the secretary to the government of the federation, Chief Ufot Ekaette, was clear on why the inauguration of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) board was not held contrary to the claims that it was as a result of the inclusion of the name of Ali's wife as board chairman.

The Imo state-born politician appealed to those behind the misinformation, to desist from raking up unnecessary sentiments, adding that President Obasanjo was in the right frame of mind to determine what parameters to use in his anti-corruption campaign.

According to him, the intentions of those behind it were politically motivated and aimed at disrupting the well thought out plans to put up a credible electoral process towards 2007.
