The crisis control foundation (CRICOF) says that they are poised to ensure a crisis-free society in Nigeria and to eradicate violence, conflicts and to minimize human avoidable crisis in our society.

Speaking last weekend when the group paid a courtesy visit to The Telegraph newspaper office, the South-South coordinator of CRICOF, Mr. Aloy Okadigbo spoke about the need for human protection and sustenance as world peace ambassadors.
Mr. Okadigbo affirmed that the objective of the organization were to mediate in the crisis between communities in the South-South which had threatened the peaceful co-existence of the people of the South-South. He also said that the organization which is a non-government organization also mediate in the conflict between oil companies and their host communities that have engulfed the region.
The South-South Coordinator commended the Telegraph Group in its uncompromising approach in all its reports which gingered them to partner with the paper. He hinted that the press in every democracy has a critical role in moulding the society and ensuring good governance.
On their past experiences, Mr. Okadigbo noted that CRICOF was involved in the mediation pf the Liberian War, the resettlement of refugees in Nigeria and the monitoring of the last elections that ushered in the present democracy in Nigeria.
Responding on behalf of the Publisher of the Port Harcourt Telegraph, the Group Editor of the paper, Mr. Kio Nimengoka thanked them for finding time to visit the Telegraph and urged them to ensure That they intensify efforts in their chosen objectives so as to bring about human development and economic empowerment.
Mr. Kio Nimengoka stressed that the Telegraph newspaper would continue to write the news as it is which they adopted as their motto and congratulated them for their desire to partner with them.
The editor told them to tackle the issue of cultism in which many of our youths are involved and to mapped out new strategies so that at the end of the day, development would strive in every sector of the society.
He forsees 2007 election as hectic, urging the organization to educate the youths in order not for them to be used by politicians.
He told them to preach peace, love oneness and unity among South-South people and partner with the state government in ensuring peace.
In his remarks, the Rivers State co-ordinator of the organization, Mr. David Enogho urged everybody to be involved in controlling crisis in Nigeria because according to him, one person cannot do it alone but collectively.
Mr. Enogho lauded the management of Telegraph newspaper for objectivity in their reporting and urged them not to relent in educating the public.
He said that the organization has worked out modalities to inaugurate the body at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology and called for support from the public.
