The Managing Director of Ibom Brothers Nig. Ltd., Elder Udo Essien has described the champion of resource control and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah as a role model.
Essien who spoke with the Telegraph Saturday at Ikot Ekpene said that apart from laying a solid foundation for the developmental take-off of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Attah has succeeded largely in using the services of indigenous contractors to spearhead the great transformation that is currently taking place there.
The company MD who thanked the governor observed that the people of the state have never had it so good, stressing that the opportunity given to the people has helped to boos economic activity and give almost every one a sense of belonging and faith in the system.
Said he, "It is now clear that our people can do well".
X-raying the pace of progress, Essien remarked Uyo would soon wear a new look and declared that soon it would be compared with other progressive cities in the entire country.
He also thanked the state government and the NDDC for recommending his company for the job of building a stadium at Ikot Ekpene that would include trade fair and a civic centre that would be the best in the South-South when the project is completed.
He acknowledged that the contract was signed early this year, hinting that under the terms of agreement the job would be completed within a 12-month time frame.
He also commended Arc. Obong Victor Attah for appointing Sir Michael Udofia as the Deputy Governor of the state.
