Armed robbers Monday in Ahoada, Rivers State in South-South Nigeria killed two policemen at a check-point. The robbers had struck in the Afternoon at a point by the former Coca Cola Filling Station.

An unfortunate car owner was within the vicinity and the robbers appeared to think the car he was driving was worth snatching. They rounded up the car owner and took the car.

As they escaped heading in the direction of Mbiama they came upon a check point mounted by the police. An attempt to stop them resulted in a shoot out.
As they withdrew, two policemen lay in the dust, their blood trickling out of the holes created by the passage of the killer bullets. Some where along their route of escape, another police kissed the dust as the bullets fired by the car thieves found their mark. At the Ahoada police station, the remains of the dead policemen were brought in.

Policemen on duty wore long angry looks even as they clinically went to work.
So far, there has been no reports if the police have found the killers of their colleagues killed on the line of duty.

There are also no reports for now suggesting that the stolen car has been found abandoned by the fleeing rogues who left a trail of blood as they made away with their loot.
